3-meo-pcp with the formal name of 1-[1-(3-methoxyphenyl)cyclohexyl]-piperidine is classified as a dissociative compound. 3-meo-pcp is an analog of Phencyclidine, which is known as angel dust. 3-meo-pcp binds the NMDA receptor (Ki = 20 nM) and serotonin transporter (Ki = 216 nM) with greater affinity than does PCP (Ki = 59 and 2,234 nM, respectively).

The molecular formula is C18H27NO • HCl with a molecular weight of 309.9 and an exact mass of 396.13. 3-meo-pcp is a crystalline solid with a ≥98% purity and λmax at 221, 279 nm.
